EBONYS GREEN CORD HIKE

Its this weekend, they set off yesterday in nice weather but today isn't looking so crash hot..Riding bikes in the rain isn't fun..I feel certain that you are all having fun anyway and can't wait till you get back and tell us all about it..:)

COOLENDEL FAMILY CAMP WAS A HUGE SUCCESS

We had a fantastic time at the Camp this weekend, the weather was terrific and everyone had a fine time. Thanks to Foosa, Dozer and Gil for organising this thing. I will be putting some photos up shortly so keep checking back to have a look

JOEYS had a great time at our Harry Potter Camp at Huskisson

Dapto, along with lots of other Joeys from the district met up at Huskisson Scout/Guides hall and had our annual Joey Fun Day which had a Harry Potter theme. The weather was not very nice but that didn't seem to dampen anyones fun, there was Quidditch to be played, craft to do, wands to make amongst other things.. OH and lets not forget the Snake Man who came along with the snakes for us to see..


We really enjoyed ourselves  everyone was very well behaved, including the mums and dads who came along. Some of us got a bit wet in the tents but thats part of the fun of camping in torrential downpours..haha.

Cubs are at the Coast Guard tonight..

Port Kembla Coast Guard

Meet at 6.30 at the hill behind the Coast Guard, there will be tours leaving in groups of 10.. Those who are waiting for their tour will be doing water safety. It should be a fun and informative night.

Full uniform must be worn!

Scouts had a fantastic time at Bengalee on the weekend

Some of our Scouts with Foosa, Dozer, Gil and Wattle attended Bengalee Scout Camp last weekend for the annual Scouts and Guides combined camp, they had a great time and if you want to see what they got up to click this link for the photos..

From all accounts they did Challenge Valley, went abseiling and canoeing amongst lots of other things, and I heard they absolutely drenched the Guides in the canoes..haha..my boys were exhausted when they returned home which is a great sign of a brilliant camp..

JOEYS AND CUBS...DON'T FORGET THE FOUNDERS DAY WALK TOMORROW

Please arrive at the PCYC atReddal Parade by 5.45 at the latest, the walk will start at 6pm. We will be walking to Boonerah Point Scout Hall and having some picnic games and a sausage sizzle. There will be a small Founders Day service there as well.

If the weather changes the plans please keep an eye out on the facebook page and this webpage, it will be updated tomorrow.

Cubs and Scouts doing some swimming badge work at Beverly Whitfield Pool at Shellharbour

the cubs and scouts will be swimming and doing activities in  Beverley Whitfeild pool located at Shellharbour  village near the harbour.

you will need to bring a clothes to swim in ( shirt , pants, foot wear ) you will be swimming in these clothes as part of the badge work.

please keep in mind the scout policy on swimming. ( for girls one piece swimmers or board shorts and rash vest ,for boys board shorts & rash vest. covered shoes ) bring a towel and some kind of bag to place all your belongings in.

just a reminder that there is no cubs tonight, you are off to the swimming pool at Shellharbour on Thursday with the Scouts instead for your swimming badgework.. The sixers and seconds are at the hall, please be there around 5.45. Joeys is on tonight and you will be joining them for the last 15minutes so the Joeys can ask you questions about being a Cub Scout..

Back to Scouting...2011

The cubs started back last tuesday and they had a huge waterfight, this was just the thing because it was so hot. When I got there they were all wet and laughing, it was fantastic to see everyone! and now for tonight, the joeys are back at the hall for 2011 and this Possum is getting excited!! woohoo.. We have a fantastic term planned and I am looking forward to it.

Back to Scouts - Dates each section returns to the hall...

Well, I certainly hope you all had a fantastic summer holiday, I know that I did..It was busy but great fun and now its time to dust the uniform off and get back into the great things we do in Scouts..

Joeys return to the hall on Tuesday 8th February at 5 - 6pm
Cubs return to the hall on Tuesday 1st February at 6.30 - 8pm
Scouts return to the hall on Thursday 3rd February at 7 - 9pm

All the sections have some exciting things planned for term 1 and all the leaders are very much looking forward to seeing you all again. :)

CUBOREE 2011

WOW, just back from the Cuboree and I can't even begin to tell you how much fun it was. The photos have been uploaded, these are only a few of the best ones..The cubs were busy busy busy all day, everyday and I have to mention how proud of them all the leaders were, Our cub scouts all showed that they aren't scared of trying new things and knowing how to be a good friend..

They all seemed to love challenge valley the best and I know that they were all exhausted when they came back to camp after they did it. Everyone is now home safetly, very tired but happy.
